In a retailer’s online shop, customers can buy products with loyalty points. After a customer placed an order, the customer service staff manually entered the order details into SAP and then separately finalised the transaction to ensure that the purchased items moved to „For shipping” status.
The robot created in the automation project extracts the data of the newly placed orders directly from the webshop database, then creates the transactions in SAP thus the goods can be shipped right away.
The robot has taken over the burden of repetitive order-taking from the clerks, who may now perform tasks with higher value added. The order administration team has freed up about 1 hour a day.
