To fill in the loan contract templates and annexes, bank loan officers collected data from a number of internal and external systems and manually copied it into the templates. This was an extremely time-consuming process with a high error rate.
The contract templates have been adapted for robotisation. In several steps, the robots retrieve the necessary data from each system, populate the corresponding data fields in the templates and save the completed documents in the loan application folder (for human verification and finalisation). The robot generates a list of the data it fails to retrieve.
The robots do around 90% of the work, reducing a potentially days-long process to a few hours. The Bank also saves approximately 8 FTEs through automation.
