Boosting customer registration experience

As it was done before

At our international distributor of assembly materials, a colleague was responsible for registering first-time customers of their webshop and physical shops. The customersdetails had to be manually recorded in SAP, and the customers were then activated in SAP—until this was done, they could not make a purchase. Customers registering in the shop often had to wait for a long time before they could complete their purchase due to the colleague’s workload.

This is what happens today

The robot we developed checks and manages the registration of new customers through a corporate information platform and records their authenticated data in the SAP system. It verifies registrations using the tax number, retrieves customer data from a company information website, generates GPS coordinates for the company headquarters, and automatically performs actions related to previously registered customers (e.g., updating contact person information, initiating password changes).

The robot sends a notification about all processed customers to the colleague responsible for registrations.

Customer benefit

The robot is designed for continuous operation, allowing it to work not only during opening hours but also beyond. On average, shop registrations are now completed within three minutes, leading to increased customer satisfaction.

The registration clerk now has 2.5 hours of freed-up working time per day.
